Douglas County virtual meeting access information

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Public meetings have gone to a virtual format to protect the public against health threats posed by the coronavirus and COVID-19. Promoting social distancing and reducing public gatherings have led local governments to create materials and procedures for the public to still participate and to follow the Brown Act.

Douglas County Commissioners will no longer have a physical location designated for their meetings and copies of the agenda will no longer be physically posted.

Meeting materials will be posted on the following websites:

State of Nevada Public Notices: https://notice.nv.gov/
Douglas County Meeting: https://douglascountynv.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx

To watch the meetings, visit http://douglascountynv.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx

Before each meeting members of the public may submit public comments through the County’s public comment form by using this web link:
https://www.douglascountynv.gov/government/board_of_county_commissioners/public_comment

Comments may also be mailed to the Board prior to a meeting: Post Office Box 218, Minden, Nevada 89423. However, all written public comments must be received prior to the date of the meeting if the comments are to be included in the supplemental materials.

During the meeting, the public may call 775-783-6007 and leave a voice message which will be played for the Board of Commissioners and public when public comment is announced.

Public comment is limited to three minutes and will only occur at the beginning and end of the Board meeting. Public comment will not be taken on each agenda item during the meeting.

"Douglas County appreciates its citizens’ patience and cooperation as we make accommodations to continue the people’s business while complying with the directives of Governor Sisolak’s Declaration of Emergency and we attempt to ensure the safety and public health of the public," the County said in a press release.
