Special South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting Wednesday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - City Council has two items on their special meeting agenda for Wednesday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting is live-streamed on Channel 21 and on the City’s website at www.cityofslt.us.

There will be no formal action on the first item. They will be discussing their newly appointed Transformational Change Committee which is comprised of Councilmembers Cody Bass and Devin Middlebrook.

At their meeting last week, the council created two other committees as well that will address the response and recovery to the COVID-19 crisis:

Governance (Collins, Wallace) and Immediate Response and Tourism (Laine, Wallace) where the appointed councilmembers will be bringing updates back to the next council meeting with an initial scope and committee selection process.

The transformation committee will add community members including representatives with expertise in the following areas and represent broader community groups
● Real Estate and Development
● Technology and Engineering
● Entrepreneurship/Small Business
● Legal
● Economic Development
● Philanthropy and Non-Profit
● Health and Wellness
● Outdoor Recreation
● Sustainable Tourism
● Equity/Inclusion/Disadvantages Communities
● Commercial Property Owners

The second item on the agenda will be a vote on the authorization of resolutions that would give the City Manager/Director of Emergency Services (Interim City Manager Brad Kilger at this time) to act as the City’s agent with regards to applying for federal and state disaster relief funds. These funds would help the City pay for overtime incurred during the COVID-10 crisis, equipment for emergency medical care and employee protection, technical assistance and other categories.
