Is your child a bully or being bullied? Learn how to empower youth with tools to deal with put downs on and off school campuses at a workshop on Monday, April 16, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Community College board room.
There has been an increase in school violence as well as anonymous-based slander, outing and taunting that qualifies for cyber bullying on social media and internet websites. This series will provide some useable responses and tools that empower youth to diffuse conflicts with their peers along with preventative methods for bullying and cyber bullying. Adolescent development will be covered.
Light snacks and refreshments provided. RSVP to: Dana at (916) 801-9848 or mcknight@ltcc.edu
Go here and here for more on the epidemic and ways you can prevent it. If you see cyber bullying or are a victim of cyber bullying and taunting, take a screen shot of it to record it and report it to school officials and authorities.
