Participants sought for Leadership Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Leadership Lake Tahoe has been helping shape the South Shore community since 2003 and organizers are looking for the next class of participants for the ten-month program.

The intensive development program helps emerging leaders from various sectors of the community, including Barton Health and The City of South Lake Tahoe, as well as small business owners and entrepreneurs such as Cowork Tahoe, Lake Tahoe AleWorX and South Tahoe Now.

Through monthly classes, participants will gain awareness of the issues and challenges that face the South Shore community. A different topic will be covered on the first Wednesday of every month from September 2019 to June 2020. The key topics include economic development, environment, government, tourism, social and community resources, transportation, education, and public safety.

“Leadership Lake Tahoe is an enriching program that both educates and inspires participants about what it means to live, work and play in the community," said Natasha Schue, Community Outreach Coordinator for Barton Health and Tahoe Chamber Board Member and longtime supporter of the program. "I've gone through the program (both as a participant and task force member) and with each experience I've learned something new and feel more empowered to play an active role in our region.”

Individuals that are interested in helping to shape the South Shore community are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be aware and prepared for the ten-month commitment. The application process for Leadership Lake Tahoe is competitive and participants are selected based on their interest in the future of the community.

To apply, visit www.tahoechamber.org. A completed application and a signed employer consent form are due by June 3, and applicant interviews will begin the second week in June.
