Leadership Lake Tahoe is an intensive program where participants meet once each month for a full class day that address a different community topic. These include Government, Education, Social Services and Community Resources, Tourism, Environment and Transportation, Public Safety, Economic Development, and Media and Communications. Class instructors provide training in specialized leadership skills such as time management, understanding differences in work styles, diversity and generational differences in the workforce, marketing strategies, and advanced communication skills. Additionally, participants take part in a large group project in which they will plan and execute a Lake Tahoe Leadership Summit in 2018.

The Tahoe Chamber launched Leadership Lake Tahoe in 2003 as a way to identify and develop current and future leaders through a comprehensive program designed to increase knowledge and awareness of the issues, challenges, and opportunities facing our region. Said Chamber CEO Steve Teshara in announcing the participants, “Developing local leadership is a key component of fostering and sustaining our community, now and into the future. This program is yet another way Tahoe Chamber demonstrates our community commitment and values.”

Leadership Lake Tahoe would not be possible without the support of program alumni who serve as Task Force members and work diligently to plan each class session. The Tahoe Chamber sent out thank you's to Lyndsay Bryant (Class of 2012), Jane Flavin (Class of 2004), Troy Matthews (Class of 2016), David Orr (Class of 2016), Natasha Schue (Class of 2014), Ryan Schue (Class of 2016), Lauren Tomaselli (Class of 2012), Scott Weavil (Class of 2016), Jude Wood (Class of 2016), and Evon Yakar (Class of 2014) for their dedication to this vital community program. Sponsors of the program include Aston Lakeland Village, Lake Tahoe Community College, and Sustainable Community Advocates.
