ONE TAHOE listening session on North Shore Tuesday

Event Date:
April 23, 2019 - 4:00pm

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - In January 2019, the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD), in collaboration with agency partners, launched ONE TAHOE, an initiative focused on achieving the full funding necessary to transform the community transportation vision into reality.

ONE TAHOE seeks to gather community input on funding solutions to implement the Regional Transportation Plan Vision.

On Tuesday, April 23 a listening session (in the format of a workshop with stations with informational boards and project representatives) will be held for the public to give input, learn about the community-developed Regional Transportation Plan and current transportation challenges and available funding, and to discuss ways to seek potential solutions to address the transportation funding shortfall. Community ideas and input are highly encouraged for this project.

The listening session will be in Tahoe City and will include five informational stations with project representatives to answer questions, gather input and engage in conversations. This is a follow up to the meeting on the South Shore with the same stations.

Transportation professionals working with local agencies and entities responsible for planning, building, and operating transportation systems and services in the Lake Tahoe Basin have identified a $1.53 billion shortfall in the transportation funding needed through 2040. The ONE TAHOE initiative, ONE TAHOE webpage, and upcoming public meetings will initiate the feedback process to gather community input on equitable solutions to address the funding shortfall.

The April 23 listening session will be held at the Fairway Community Center, Lakeview Room in Tahoe City, 330 Fairway Drive from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
