Lake Tahoe Community College invites you to a Community Forum on Tuesday, April 30 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Aspen Room, located inside the library building. The forum will be devoted to discussing a possible intercollegiate men’s and women’s soccer program. No RSVP is required to attend, and all community members are welcome to join us. Light refreshments will be served.
The college is researching the development of an intercollegiate soccer program in an effort to serve the community’s and students’ interests, and to create a more connected campus and a more vibrant sense of community spirit. According to LTCC Physical Education and Health Professor Tim Johnson, this program represents “a potentially potent vehicle for helping the college achieve the goals laid out in its most recent strategic plan. It would also give our town something to cheer about.”
LTCC wants to hear from the community about their thoughts on this potential athletic program, and to answer questions about it. “As the sport of soccer continues to grow in our community and across the nation, it is important that we hear from community members regarding the possibility of an intercollegiate soccer program at LTCC,” says Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services Tom Greene.
Students, athletes, parents, local businesses, and community members are all encouraged to participate in the discussion.
For more information about this forum, please call Tim Johnson at (530) 541-4660 ext. 557, or send an email to Johnson@ltcc.edu.
