Deaths in Placerville Fire Ruled a Murder-Suicide

The March 7th fire in Placerville that resulted in the death of two women has been ruled a murder-suicide according to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department.
Emergency personnel who responded to the fire found the women deceased in the house. It was determined later that they both died of gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined that homeowner Crystal Ward, 58, shot 62 year old Carol Hague in the head and then set the house ablaze with flammable liquids before turning the gun on herself.
