Free lecture at LTCC: Raising Resilient Kids

Learn how trauma affects the brain and tips for improving mental health for adults and their children at the next free community training series at Lake Tahoe Community College on Tuesday, May 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

You will leave with tools that build resiliency.

The guest speaker is Dr. Sonia N. RUPP from Barton Psychiatry at the program which will take place at the college's Creekside Room. Dr. Rugg attended Texas A & M University for her undergraduate school education, the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas for her medical school training. She completed an adult

psychiatry residency program at the University of Toledo Medical Center, followed by a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Fellowship at the Kobacker Center in Toledo, Ohio. She moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1999 and has been working for Barton Health since 2009 were Dr. Rupp is currently the medical director for the Department of
Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Barton Hospital. She is also the chairperson of the physician Wellbeing Committee. She appreciates living in Lake Tahoe for the outdoor activities which she enjoys with her husband and three grown children.
