Tahoe Together logo apparel and stickers available to help neighbors in need

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - Lake Tahoe is one lake, one regional economy and one known to always come together during a crisis. Community members are already supporting each other in numerous ways during the coronavirus pandemic through volunteering and donating, and now the Tahoe region’s three Community Foundations along with the Tahoe Prosperity Center have launched #TahoeTogether, a new campaign focused on continued coordination of efforts to support community members in need during this crisis.

To help raise their goal of $20,000 in apparel sales to help the fund, #TahoeTogether hats and shirts are now available for purchase. In the spirit of entrepreneurship, many have reached out to the Tahoe Prosperity Center (TPC) in their desire to support #TahoeTogether.

This is just one of the fundraising efforts and there has already been $1,000 in pre-sales and orders will be taken through May 30, 2020. Expect your logo gear by mid-June. Heidi Hill Drum of TPC said this effort was the brainchild of local athlete, coach, and entrepreneur Leon Abravanel and it coincided with the #TahoeTogether campaign.

Rise Designs of South Lake Tahoe is making the hats, shirts, and bumper stickers with 100 percent of the profits from sales be donated to locals in need.

Here’s how it works:
Tahoe Together Apparel orders will be accepted for 1 month (May 1st - 30th, 2020) - spread the word to your friends and families!

The initial apparel order will be placed on June 1st for all orders received May 1st - 30th.

You can expect to receive your order during the second week of June. (All orders will be packaged in a sanitized space using gloves and masks.)

Share your Tahoe pride and post pictures of you wearing your Tahoe Together shirt or hat and use hashtag #TahoeTogether.

100 percent of the profits will be split among the Tahoe region’s three Community Foundations and their local COVID-19 Relief Funds* and, in addition, other local businesses and non-profits that are in need. (Please contact them if you would like to nominate a business or person).

Together, we can help ensure that no one in our region goes hungry, loses their housing, or goes without needed help. And the need is big -- our neighbors are hurting from sudden job loss, salary reductions, and new responsibilities including home-schooling.

The COVID-19 Relief Funds for the entire Tahoe Truckee region are already providing grants to nonprofits helping provide food, shelter, care, and other basic needs for those impacted most. All the funds stay local and help local people.
