EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors are holding a special meeting on Tuesday, June 2 at 1:00 p.m. to discuss expansion of the County's Stage 2 attestation announced by the Public Health Administrator Dr. Nancy Williams.
The only item on the agenda is discussion and possible action on expanding Stage 2 to include all businesses and industries identified in Stage 3 of Governor Newsom's Resiliency Roadmap.
The Chief Administrative Office of the County is recommending the Board receive an update from Dr. Williams on the current status of COVID-19, including the actions being taken to monitor and track positive cases in El Dorado County. The CAO office is requesting the Board of Supervisors discuss with Dr. Williams the possibility of the next stage of reopening in accordance with industry-specific guidelines by the California Department of Public Health.
Placer County supervisors approved a resolution last week to request permission from the state to move into Stage 3 of California’s reopening roadmap. Placer County covers the California side of the North Shore.
With Nevada casinos reopening at Lake Tahoe on Thursday, June 4, more tourism traffic will be headed to the South Shore. Casino hotels will be open, but the California-side motels and vacation rentals have not been permitted to under the statewide nonessential travel ban.
