SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - "Not Here, Not in our Town, Not in South Lake Tahoe or Anywhere," will be the message of Thursday's multi-faith community gathering to denounce anti-Semitic graffiti found recently in South Lake Tahoe.
On Thursday, May 30, Rabbi Evon Yakar of Temple Bat Yam was informed of the graffiti on the Trout Creek Bridge just west of US Bank and Denny's. Normally graffiti is covered immediately by a volunteer graffiti-removal team, but since the recent message was in an inconspicuous location, Rabbi Evon saw an opportunity to build coalition, partnership and respond to the message as a community.
On Thursday, June 6 at 4:30 p.m., the community is invited to gather at the south side of the Trout Creek Bridge (across the street from Meeks Lumber near The Muffler Palace) to stand together, to make a statement, and begin the cleanup.
