Squaw Valley man arrested on child pornography charges

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A Squaw Valley man has been arrested after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted Placer County Sheriff's Office that he was downloading child pornography.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit, with the assistance of the Truckee Police and Scottsdale Police Departments, arrested 71-year-old William Heacox on June 5.

The three agencies served multiple search warrants at Heacox's homes in Squaw Valley, California and Scottsdale, Arizona. During the search, Heacox was arrested for possession of Child Pornography after several images of underage boys were collected for evidence.

Heacox was booked into the Placer County Jail on $1,050,000 bail.
