Suspect in residential burglaries arrested in Douglas County

A 23-year old California man has been arrested in Douglas County on multiple charges stemming from a rash of residential burglaries in the Chichester area of the county.
While conducting targeted crime prevention enforcement in Chichester on Tuesday, investigators observed a suspicious man. When Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies attempted to make contact with the suspect, he ran away by jumping fences but was later apprehended.
Christopher Bernal, a transient from California, was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and for having a fugitive warrant.
A no bail hold has been placed on Bernal. Specific details about this case are not being released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
