A South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Monday after allegedly attempting to carjack a local woman's BMW.

SLT police officers responded to a report of a carjacking in progress at the 7-11 store located at 3923 Pioneer Trail. When officers arrived on scene, they located the a 22-year-old South Lake Tahie woman sitting in her vehicle. She told officers that while she was walking out of 7-11, she saw a naked Hispanic male walking across Pioneer Trail. She said he appeared to make eye contact with her so she ran to her white BMW vehicle and tried to lock herself inside. The suspect was able to open the door and tried to remove her from her car by pulling on her hair and clothes. The victim resisted and the suspect then got in and attempted to steal it with her inside.

Some bystanders were able to pull the suspect out. The male then ran across the street to his hotel room where officers located and identified him as 29-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez of South Lake Tahoe.

Cobos-Martinez was arrested for Carjacking and False Imprisonment and booked into the El Dorado County Jail without incident. He is in the jail currently facing $225,000 bail.
