INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - New critical health and safety measures are now in place at Incline Beach, Burnt Cedar Beach, Ski Beach, and Hermit Beach. There are now limitations on access and restrictions on group picnic use.
An emergency resolution was passed by the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) Board of Trustees to outline the new measures as laid out in their Resolution 1881. They are also enhancing their communication process to expeditiously inform the public regarding ongoing restrictions.
“This resolution will contribute to several key public safety and health aspects during these unprecedented conditions,” said Interim General Manager Indra Winquest. “It will help to ensure the health and safety of our front line employees, community members and their guests.”
IGVID has taken steps since Governor Sisolak's Declaration of Emergency to maintain the health and safety of employees, community members, and all who enjoy Incline Village and Crystal Bay.
Incline Village has a population of 8,800 and they have had 30 cases of COVID-19, eight of which are currently active. Crystal Bay's population of 661 has seen one case and that person has recovered.
Resolution 1881, an emergency resolution effective June 24, 2020 through December 31, 2020, is summarized as:
1. Active IVGID Recreation Pass Holders shall be allowed access to all IVGID beaches and are required to keep their recreation pass with them while present.
2. Active IVGID Recreation Punch Card holders shall be allowed access to all IVGID beaches and are required to keep their punch card with them while present.
3. IVGID Recreation Punch Cards may not be exchanged for passes.
4. Parcel owners are able to purchase additional IVGID Recreation Punch Cards at a cost of one-fifth (1/5) of the total Recreation Facility Fee, presently at $830, or at a per Recreation Punch Card cost of $166.
5. In order to ensure the health and safety of the community during this time of a pandemic, occupancy may be limited, up to complete closure, by IVGID staff with the approval of the IVGID General Manager, at all IVGID beaches.
6. The IVGID General Manager has the discretion to restrict and/or cancel any and all group picnic reservations.
7. The IVGID General Manager, in consultation with the IVGID Board of Trustees Chairperson, can make emergency changes which will be posted to the IVGID website.
