Meeks Bay Fire is holding their 49th annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, July 1 and 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at their fire station on SR-89. This year the Sierra States Parks Foundations have come on board to help with the popular event that provides not only pancakes but also the famous Meeks Bay Fire jumbo sausages, applesauce, milk, coffee, orange juice, and plenty of butter and maple syrup to make the meal complete!
This popular fundraising event has been called "the best of its kind" on the West Shore.
Breakfast is $10.00 for adults (12 years & over ), $6.00 for children (6 –12 years), and free for under 6. First Responders eat FREE!
Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the Meeks Bay Fire Protection District & the Sierra State Parks Foundation (SSPF). The Foundation supports the California State Parks in the Sierra Region, including Sugar Pine Point State Park, D.L. Bliss State Park, and Emerald Bay State Park, located in, and protected by the Meeks Bay Fire Protection District. The Foundation supports facilities and personnel in our beautiful parks, and Meeks Bay Fire is proud to have the volunteers and staff of SSPF joining in this beloved community event that has been attended by families for generations.
The popular Meeks Bay Fire t-shirts, sweats, aprons, and other logo items will be available for purchase, as will the best selling Meeks Bay Fire Ladies Auxiliary Cook Book. Sierra State Parks Foundation merchandise, and information on activities and programs in the parks will be available, and personnel will be there to inform guests of the many vital support services and wonderful events that have made SSPF a valuable asset to our community.
“Fire Chief” helmets will be available for the “little chiefs” visiting the station. Defensible Space & fire safety information will also be available.
Meet the Firefighters, get information on Defensible Space and home safety, and see the fire apparatus including the brand new Engine 61. All will be on display for inspection by "children" of all ages, so bring the whole family to the popular West Shore family event.
Meeks Bay Fire Station #61 is located on Highway 89 in Meeks Bay.
