"Knuckleheads" on the 7th hole ready for AJ, Justin and other celebrity golfers

The boys are planning something big for AJ Hawk. But exactly what they're planning they cannot divulge.

"We’re going to make it a good time," said Blake Mori, co-founder of wimZr and the owner of a Sacramento area Farmer's Insurance Agency. "We're getting our props and plans finalized."

Mori and a small group of guys from Sacramento started coming to South Lake Tahoe for a fun time at celebrity golf a few years ago, and its since turned into an iconic. must-be-at part of the whole American Century Golf Championship experience. They take over the 7th hole on Thursdays during the golf tournament at Edgewood, creating their own celebration within a celebration.

Jon Miller, President of Programming for NBC Sports and NBC Sports Network, has been impressed with how "the boys" entertained both the celebrities and the gallery. It was Miller who dubbed the group of friends as "the knuckleheads."

Justin Timberlake had fun on the 7th hole in 2015, and tweeted, "this is the best golf hole ever." When Justin Timberlake tweets something he tweets it to 46.3 million followers. So that's the size of a few small countries said Miller.

In the 2014 tournament, things changed for "the boys" when football player AJ Hawk took their bait and tackled one of them, something shown in videos that went viral. Hawk continued the tackling in 2015, and something will happen in 2016, but what is anyone's guess.

Mori relayed this comment to Hawk: "Make sure you stretch before you hit Hole 7. Beware!"

The Sacramento group of friends may have some of Timberlake's Tequila, 901, in their tent. Mori said they are in talks with the company's reps. 901 is one of the sponsors of the tournament as well.

Mori's company wimZr created an app that was featured in the SuperBowl this year in San Francisco. They have ideas on how the app could make the American Century Golf Championship even better, with interactive features not seen at the tournament before. "It's a social media opportunity to interact with the fans," said Mori.

"We have some things under our sleeves for the day," Mori said, but he wouldn't give any clues as to what they could be. We'll all just have to hang out on the 7th hole during the ACC on Thursday, July 21 to find out.
