Safe neighborhoods and camaraderie focus of National Night Out

The South Lake Tahoe and Meyers community will be joining local law enforcement fo National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Environmental Science Magnet School located at 1095 E. San Bernardino Ave.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

This special enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

The local National Night Out is a partnership between El Dorado County, El Dorado County Sherriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, Barton Health, South Tahoe Refuse and Recycling Services, California Conservation Corps and Kiwanis.

Join us for fun, food and networking with neighbors & community services and;
· Explore a SWAT vehicle
· Say hi to a K9 Officer
· Climb inside a fire truck
· Get your car seat checked
· Learn about the California Conservation Corp and American Red Cross
· Talk to El Dorado County Vector Control
· Prepare your family for emergencies

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.
