South Lake Tahoe forecast: Chance of thunderstorms daily to start off the week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Showers and thunderstorms will develop each afternoon and evening into at least the middle of next week according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Winds will remain light except for afternoon zephyr breezes and the occasional outflow winds from thunderstorms. Any strong storms that develop can produce outflow winds over 40 mph, heavy rain, and hail. If heavy rain lingers over steep terrain or a recently burned slope, some flash flooding and/or debris flows can occur.

Monday - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Monday Night - A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Tuesday - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Wednesday - A 30 percent chance of showers after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night - A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Thursday - A slight chance of showers after 11am. Sunny, with a high near 80.
