California unemployment drops slightly in June, Nevada jobless rate steady

California's unemployment rate fell slightly in June to 10.7 percent, as the state added 38,300 jobs. The Employment Development Department released the latest jobs figure on Friday. It marked a slight drop from May, when unemployment was at 10.8 percent.
Go here for the full story. Meanwhile, Nevada's unemployment rate held steady at 11.6 percent in June as some private sector industries showed continued signs of job gains, state officials said Friday.
Reno's rate was 11.7 percent, up from 11.5 percent a month earlier, and Carson City's rate was 11.8 percent, up from 11.7 percent.
