American Century Championship pairings for Friday

Golf and Justin Timberlake fans will have to get up early to follow the popular celebrity over at Edgewood Tahoe on Friday.

Timberlake, paired with good friend Alfonso Ribeiro, will tee off at 6:50 a.m. The singer/actor golfed in Tahoe on Wednesday, then flew to San Diego to participate in Comic Con 2016, and will be back for an early round of golf. Timberlake plays the part of Branch in the soon-to-be-released animated movie, Trolls.

Two-time champion (1990 and 2014) Mark Rypien is eager to hit the firm and fast greens at Edgewood. “I just played yesterday, and I'm going to go out and play again today. But I just think it's a different golf course, it seems like, from the past. The greens used to be spongy and soft and you get a lot of action on the ball. It's maybe as beautiful as I've seen it.”

Rypien will tee off with Joe Theisman and Jim Harbaugh at 8:50 a.m.

Eighty-six celebrities from the worlds of sports and entertainment, including defending champion Mark Mulder, are gunning for a piece of the $600,000 purse.
“It was a lot of fun,” said Mulder, a former pitcher whose teams included the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals. “I think this is my sixth year playing in this. It's always been a goal of mine to win. I finally did that last season and I’m going to try to do it again.”

The ACC features its first-ever all-women groups – two of them, in fact – as a record five women are in the field: Heather LeMaster, Lisa Cornwell and Blair O’Neal (start at the 10th tee at 9:05 a.m.); and Abby Wambach and Kathryn Tappen (who start at the 10th tee at 10:05 a.m.).

Attached is a full pairings sheet, with tee times from 6:50 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
