There is nothing quite like rich mahogany reflecting off the pure blue waters of Lake Tahoe, and there will be plenty of it to see as over 85 of the world's rarest wooden boats come to the Tahoe Keys Marina as part of the 8th Annual Wooden Boat Classic this weekend.

Each year, over 3,000 people walk through the boat slips, checking out the rare boats. There will be music, wine, food and vendors to enjoy as well. The Wooden Boat Classic brings together the fascinating and priceless history behind these elegant machines.

Cost for entry is $22 per person, children under 12 are free. There will be a Beer Village where a ticket can be purchased for $15 and gives an unlimited sampling of more than 30 unique craft beers. Price of admission to the Beer Village includes a commemorative tasting glass.

Sat. 9am - 5pm (Beer Village 11am - 5pm) - Tahoe Keys Marina

The South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic is presented by The Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc. (ACBS) which is a 6,000+ member family international organization. Its mission is to bring together people with a common interest in historic, antique and classic boats for the purpose of sharing information, experiences and ideas.

Each year, the Antique & Classic Boat Society's Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter makes donations to deserving local charities. As a 501C3 organization, they have been able to make gifts to deserving charities that meet the charter's philosophy. Last year they gave $2,500. to each of these five local charitable organizations: Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Kiwanis Clubs of Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Heritage Foundation, Sierra State Parks Foundation, and the Thunderbird Preservation Society.
