SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The City of South Lake Tahoe has reopened their boat ramp at Lakeview Avenue and Lake Tahoe Blvd.
They closed the ramp for two weeks as the City reevaluated its operating plans due to a spike in COVID-19 cases and the significant increase of visitors to the area.
The ramp opened on May 29 to boats with the Tahoe Only sticker, then allowed other stickered boats once boat inspection stations were reopened. They temporarily closed on July 10.
“We are pleased to re-open the City boat ramp to the public beginning this Friday at 10:00 a.m.,” said City Manager Joe Irvin. “We have used the last two weeks to enhance the operating plan at the boat ramp making it safer for our residents, visitors and staff.”
The boat ramp will be open Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. as is was before the closure. If you plan to use the boat ramp there are additional safety guidelines to be aware of including requirements to stay in your vehicle, wear a face covering and having your boat ready to launch prior to entering the ramp.
“Our staff has taken all the necessary precautions to help all of us have a safe and enjoyable experience on Lake Tahoe,” said Irvin.
