South Lake Tahoe forecast: Sunny skies for the week ahead

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Expect warm and dry conditions to start the week off with gusty afternoon winds. There will be a gradual cool down to near normal temps through the week with chances for thunderstorms returning the middle into the end of the week. If the storms do come, they should be very widespread but dry, a definite concern for dry lightning starts.

Smoke from the Stump, Red Salmon Complex and North Fires will create haze for portions of northeast California and northwest Nevada Monday morning, especially in Lassen and Plumas Counties, and likely also in the Tahoe Basin and Reno/Sparks areas. When westerly breezes kick in this afternoon the haze may clear out somewhat for areas near and south of I-80.
