South Lake Tahoe Building Permit Center extends hours
Submitted by paula on Mon, 08/17/2015 - 7:35pm
In order to improve customer service, the South Lake Tahoe Permit Center expanded their hours of operations.
Beginning today, August 17, the center will be open 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no closures during the day.
The City recognized the need to provide quality customer service to the development community. The new hours of operation will help assist individuals and businesses who want to invest in the community, improve their buildings, and build new projects by providing more opportunities for permit processing needs.
There has been a substantial increase in the amount of requests for service and submission of permits due to an increase in construction activity in South Lake Tahoe. In addition, with the changes to Vacation Home Rental permits and code requirements for Single Room Occupancy (motels), there will be an increase in the number of community members needing assistance.
The center is scheduled for remodeling next spring so they can have a more user-friendly lobby. They will also develop methods and opportunities for self-submission of minor permits and invest in technology and staffing to expedite and improve the permitting process.
The City of South Lake Tahoe's Permit Center is located at 1052 Tata Lane, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Their phone is (530) 542-6010.
