Pair arrested after phones stolen from South Lake Tahoe stores

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Two people from the Sacramento area were arrested by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department Saturday afternoon on suspicion of stealing phones from both the Verizon and T-Mobile stores in South Lake Tahoe.

As soon as the South Lake Tahoe Police Department was called to the Verizon store on Lake Tahoe Boulevard to take a report they broadcast the information about the suspect's vehicle on the radio. El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies took note and then saw the pair pass by the Agriculture "Bug" Station in Meyers where they were subsequently pulled over without incident.

SLTPD was then called to Meyers.

Inside the vehicle, officers found phones from both Verizon and T-Mobile in South Lake Tahoe as well as what appeared to be stolen property from other phone and electronics stores, according to SLTPD Sgt. Travis Cabral.

Arrested were the two occupants of the vehicle, Tushaun Glenn, 40 and Nieneta Bland, 39.

Cabral said they both had outstanding felony warrants as well, his from Marysville, Calif, and hers from Placer County.

Both are still being held in the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe. Glenn's bail is currently at $197,500 for charges two charges of burglary, one for receiving known stolen property and a bail enhancement for the warrant. Bland's bail is $9,500 for receiving known stolen property and giving false ID to police officers, with additional pending ones for warrant and violation of probation.

Glenn and Bland were previously arrested together in 2012 for stealing in the Auburn area.
