(Stateline, Nevada) – On Thursday August 23rd, shortly before 11 am, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Governing Board delivered a vote of unanimous approval authorizing Edgewood Companies to move forward on to the permitting phase of the Edgewood Tahoe Lodge Project. The environmental redevelopment project is expected to be catalytic to the Tahoe Basin with regard to investment in economic and environmental improvements.

The Governing Board approved certification of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Edgewood Lodge and Golf Course Improvement Project (APN 1318-27-001-001 TRPA File Number ENVP2008-0002), the proposed amendment of Chapter 37, Section 37.5 (Height Standards), and the proposed Edgewood Lodge and Golf Course Improvement Project (TRPA File Number ERSP2008-0396).

With no opposition, the unprecedented decision was welcomed by diverse and numerous groups of community members who spoke at the public hearings. During the public review process, more than 54 letters were written and 35 people made public comments in favor of the Project. ”We would like to thank our community and all the people who took time out of their busy schedules to review the documents and make a public comment and write a letter in support of the project to the Advisory Planning Commission and Governing Board,” stated Chuck Scharer, President and CEO of Edgewood Companies. “We intend to do our part to help Tahoe move forward to better economic and environmental prosperity,” he continued.

The state-of-the-art LEED designed Edgewood Tahoe Lodge will create a unique world-class destination that delivers significant economic and water quality benefits to Lake Tahoe. The Lodge will attract new visitors to Lake Tahoe who stay longer and drive less.
