First Tees & Tastings Golf Tournament at Northstar at Tahoe

Northstar California Resort invites golfers and foodies alike to compete in the first annual Tees and Tastings tournament Thursday, August 28. The tournament will feature a two-game, nine-hole tournament with four beer and cuisine pairings throughout the front green of the Northstar Golf Course. Winners will receive tickets to the Wine & Brew Walk event, which takes place Saturday, Sept. 6 during the 29th Annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival.

Tees and Tastings Schedule
Tournament players will meet in front of the Northstar Golf Course Pro Shop 2:15 p.m. for tee-off at 2:30 p.m. Pairing stations throughout the front nine offer players craft brews from Goose Island and Stella; complemented with savory appetizers and gourmet bites. The final station will be hosted at the Martis Valley Grille at 6 p.m. for après-tournament socializing, awards, and delectable beer pairings.

Tees and Tastings Menu
Tees and Tastings is a Northstar culinary tradition not to miss and each of the four pairing stations will feature a unique craft brew from the Anheuser Busch family of prestigious beers. Stella Cidre will be paired with mixed roasted vegetables and Brie cheese stuffed in a crimini mushroom cup and topped with a honey balsamic glaze. Hoegaarden White Ale will be served alongside smoked salmon in a cucumber cup with a lemon and lime dill cream. Oktoberfest is matched with whiskey fennel sausage with julienned and caramelized fennel, spicy brown mustard and served on crostinis. Goose Island Pale Ale joins blackened crab cakes with a sweet chili sauce to round out the palatable experience.

Tickets for Tees and Tastings are available for $100 per person, and may be purchased at NorthstarCalifornia.com or at the Ticket & Season Pass Office in The Village at Northstar. Specific foursomes may be arranged by contacting the Northstar Events Department at 530.562.3568.
