Two new board members for Tahoe Prosperity Center

Not only has the Tahoe Prosperity Center has been working on issues to create healthier communities around the lake, they have also been welcoming new members to their Board of Directors.

New to the board are locals John McLaughlin, Chief Financial Officer of Edgewood Companies and Ken Riley, Senior Vice President, Kiewit Infrastructure Group, Inc. They join 24 other community members on the board whose goal is to also promote regional sustainability through economic vitality and by being environmental stewards.

“Our board is one of the most diverse in the Tahoe Basin, representing business, non-profit, infrastructure, government and education. We are thrilled to have John and Ken join our board with their successful background and expertise,” stated Board Chair, Sandy Evans Hall of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber/CVB/Resort Association

John is a CPA with over thirty years of experience in the hotel, casino and entertainment industry. He has served as a Corporate Board Director, CEO and CFO of both public and private multi- jurisdictional Hotel/Casino companies. In addition, during the economic downturn John formed a consulting company and provided strategic consulting services for commercial/investment banks and private investment funds related to impaired investments in the Hotel/Casino industry.

Ken has worked in the construction industry beginning as a field engineer and now as Senior Vice-President of Kiewit Infrastructure Group. He is a Professional Civil Engineer registered in the state of California. As a senior manager, he has held executive oversight for multiple business units as well as the estimating, negotiating, and execution of numerous large projects (projects from $250 million to $1+ billion construction value).

Projects the Prosperity Center is working on include bringing in a comprehensive broadband network, developing policies that encourage transformation of the region’s outdated development, engaging and mobilizing the communities around the lake and developing measurements of success.
