Fire weather watch this weekend; Cooler temps on way

The US Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for late Friday night through noon on Saturday. It calls for strong winds as a low pressure system moves across the Pacific Northwest.

The winds will affect the Sierra and Western Nevada. Although humidity is ot expected to be unusually low, the long duration of windy condition combined with low fuel moisture may produce critical fire weather conditions.

Winds will be from the Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Wind over the ridge will have gusts up to 75 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Light southwest wind becoming south 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. South wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 77.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 77.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 77.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 41.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 74.
