First phase of condo project at Stateline set to begin

Now that the last remaining building along the north side of Highway 50 between Friday Avenue and the Chateau at Heavenly Village is gone, crews have been preparing the space for what is going to be known as Zalanta Resort at the Village.

The first phase of this condominium project will begin as soon as building permits are issued by the City of South Lake Tahoe.

In a conversation with Bill Owens, President of Owens Financial Group, he told South Tahoe Now that he should receive the permits within a week or so for the first 30 units to be built along Friday Avenue. He also said that the shopping and restaurant portion that recently opened, The Chateau at Heavenly Village, will keep the name, and the condos will be known as Zalanta.

Owens said they will wait and see how the first phase is received before making plans for future phases of condominiums. Depending on the weather and how much can get done during the winter, owners should be able to move in at the end of 2016 or beginning of 2017. More condos could be built on the remainder of the Owen's property on Friday.

It is still unknown what is going along Cedar Avenue.

Once approved by the Department of Real Estate, Chase International Real Estate will be the broker on the project. They have an office already at the Chateau and the sign was hung outside today.

Owners will be able to rent out their units if so desired.

The luxury project will have 5-star concierge services unlike what has been seen in South Lake Tahoe according to a sales representative on the Zalanta project.
