Timber Cove accident victim paralyzed from waist down

On August 1, a 21 year old woman broke her neck after diving into Lake Tahoe near the Timber Cove Marina. The woman, Maridee McFarlane, spent 10 days at Renown Medical Center in Reno before being transferred to Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Sacramento, McFarlane is currently rehabilitating at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
She is now a tetraplegic, with limited arm and hand movement and complete paralysis below the waist. Friends are conducting fundraising through the website, youcaring.com.
Funds raised will go to help her parents purchase an electric wheelchair and remodel their home to accommodate her needs.
