Sacramento man dies after jumping into Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The body of a 26-year-old man from Sacramento was found in 65-feet of water on Saturday afternoon after he had been reportedly jumping from a cliff at Lake Tahoe's Rubicon Point.
El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) responded to a call at 2:00 p.m. from the U.S. Coast Guard about a possible drowning after the man jumping did not resurface. Search and Rescue efforts were initiated and the man was located and later recovered by the EDSO Dive Team.
Several agencies on the lake responded and aided in the search.
The victim has been identified as Brandon Hughes.
The next of kin notifications have been completed. The cause of death will be determined after the completion of an autopsy.
