Lake Tahoe area roadwork October 1-6

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The following is a list of Sierra area projects to be worked on by Caltrans during the following week.

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $57 million project from the “Y” intersection at State Route 89 to the Trout Creek Bridge in South Lake Tahoe. This project is building new drainage systems to collect and treat stormwater runoff, rebuilding curbs, gutters and sidewalks, widening the highway to allow for bike lanes and resurfacing the roadway. Completion is expected in fall 2019. - September 30-October 5 - U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Tahoe Keys Boulevard to Sierra Boulevard: The eastbound lanes will be closed around the clock from midnight Sunday to 11 a.m. Friday for grinding and paving work. Traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes, with one lane open in each direction.

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $35 million project in Tahoe City to build a new Truckee River bridge east of the Caltrans Maintenance Yard with roundabouts on either end of the realignment, replace the existing Truckee River (Fanny) Bridge, construct a roundabout at the “Wye” intersection and make complete street enhancements to the portion of State Route 89/West Lake Boulevard. Completion is expected in 2019. For more information, visit: www.fannybridge.org September 30-October 5 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from Twin Crags Drive to Granlibakken Road: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control at various locations from 10 p.m. Sunday to noon Monday and 5 p.m. to noon Monday through Friday for utility work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $3.6 million multi-use path project that will connect the existing path that ends at Sugar Pine Point State Park to Meeks Bay Resort. Completion is expected this fall. October 1-4 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Meeks Bay Resort to Sugar Pine State Park: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for shoulder work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $7.1 million project to resurface more than 10 miles of Highway 50 from the Sawmill Undercrossing in Cedar Grove to the South Fork American River Bridge at Riverton in El Dorado County, due to funds from Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
October 1-5 - U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Cedar Grove and Riverton: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect lane and on- and off-ramp closures at various locations from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday for striping work.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Old County Road to Sierra Terrace Road: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for utility work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Anderson Road to Agatam Avenue West: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for utility work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Chipmunk Street to Fox Street in Kings Beach: Westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for sewer work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from the Amador County line to Diana Street: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for tree work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from with junction with State Route 49 (Spring Street) to Bedford Avenue in Placerville: Eastbound motorists can expect the #3 lane closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for tree work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Locust Street to Mosquito Road/Broadway Street in Placerville: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday for striping work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from 8 Mile Road to the Sawmill Undercrossing (Cedar Grove): Eastbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed at various locations from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday for tree work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Echo Lake Road to Johnson Pass Road: Eastbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed at various locations from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday for guardrail repair.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Herbert Avenue to Ski Run Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for utility work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 3 Ring Road to Rubicon Drive: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday for ditch cleaning work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from the El Dorado County line to Elm Street: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday for shoulder work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Alpine Meadows Road to Montreal Road: Motorists can one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for ditch cleaning work.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) from Traverse Creek Road to Black Oak Mine Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday for crack sealing work.

The Caltrans District Traffic Management Branch has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above. Lanes are numbered from the center divide (#1) to the shoulder (#2, 3, 4, etc.).
