Snow in Sierra by midweek; 10 inches possible above 7,000 feet

UPDATE: 5:25PM: Wind, rain and snow in the Sierra is what's shaping up for this week for the Lake Tahoe region. With the potential of up to 10 inches of snow possible in the Sierra above 7,000 feet, a winter storm watch has been issued, according to the latest from the National Weather Service in Reno.
Two weather systems are expected to move into California and Western Nevada beginning Tuesday night, with wind gusts from 45 mph in the lower elevations, to gusts up to 90 mph along Sierra ridges, according to the weather service. The heaviest snow is expected to happen late Tuesday night into Wednesday night.
The brunt of the storm systems are expected to hit Wednesday with moderate to heavy precipitation in the Sierra. Precipitation may range from rain at lower elevations to snow above 7,000 feet possibly lowering to lake level and then 6,000 feet, with the chance of a few inches of accumulation, the weather service states.
