Kudos: Live Violence Free thanks supporters of 19th annual Sunset Gala

On Saturday, September 22, 2018, Live Violence Free held the 19th Annual Sunset Gala on the rooftop of the Harveys garage. This beautiful, crisp, fall evening was spent dancing to the funk tunes of Midtown Social with over 385 members of the South Lake Tahoe community in attendance. We joined together to support Live Violence Free’s mission of promoting a violence free community through education and advocacy to address domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and basic needs.

This year’s Sunset Gala was the most successful in the history of Live Violence Free. A simple “thank you” is not enough to express the gratitude Live Violence Free holds for each of the community partnerships. The Sunset Gala and many of the Live Violence Free programs and resources rely on these dedicated partnerships and their generous support. Through these partnerships, Live Violence Free is able to continue providing the South Lake Tahoe and Alpine communities with emergency shelters, transitional housing, individual and group therapy for adults and children, legal services, Parent to Parent program, education and prevention in K-College classrooms, and basic needs distribution every Thursday.

Live Violence Free would like to thank and acknowledge the 2018 Sunset Gala Committee: Sherri Acri, Rebecca Baer, Kathleen Brown, Cristi Creegan, Vikki Grant, Carly Holcomb, Jennifer Lukins, Lori McDaniel, Tracy Protell, Amanda Weavil, Nicole Smith and Evye Szanto. Thanks to their amazing efforts, the Sunset Gala was an exceptional success.

Also, a special thanks to the Live Violence Free Board of Directors. Through their service and continued support, Live Violence Free is able to successfully thrive as a valued resource for the community.
