According to a report in the Record Courier, the woman who reported that she was attacked by a man that pulled her over pretending to be law enforcement has recanted her story.
The victim changed her story according to Alpine County Undersheriff Rob Levy according to the newspaper. “She wasn’t attacked in Alpine County and there was no one posing as a law enforcement officer” according to Levy.
Levy said the woman was beaten, but that investigation is still ongoing. He didn’t release any further details. A call into the Alpine Sheriff's Department has not been returned. We will post more details once they are released.
