Choose your favorite South Shore businesses, staff, experiences and entrepreneurs

There are just a few days left to nominate local businesses and individuals for the Tahoe Chamber's 2016 Blue Ribbon Awards.

They are seeking nominations for those that excel in working as one in an effort to improve the quality of life on the South Shore.

Everyone can nominate since the public works day to day with those who have made a positive and lasting impression on the community. Nominations can be made on the Tahoe Chamber website at: www.tahoechamber.org and they can be made only until Monday, October 17 at 12:00 p.m.

Businesses and individuals may be nominated for the following seven categories:

Geotourism Award – Sponsored by Bike the West
Providing an authentic Tahoe experience

Tourism Award – Sponsored by Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority
Innovative program, promotion or product for our visitors

Experience Award – Sponsored by Marriott Grand Residence Club
Business providing compelling and captivating experiences

Entrepreneur Award – Sponsored by Getaway Reno/Tahoe
An innovative individual who assumed the risk of starting a new business

Customer Service (Business) Award – Sponsored by Heavenly & Kirkwood
An individual who consistently provides quality service

Customer Service (Public Agency) Award – Sponsored by Tahoe Supply Company
Quality service in the not so usual places (DMV, City, County, TRPA, etc.)

Wendell Award for Green Business or Program – Sponsored by South Tahoe Refuse
Business that is minimizing impact on the environment

Businesses and individuals are not required to be chamber members to be nominated or to win.

Nominees will be announced later in October and the winners will be announced on November 10 during the 9th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards ceremony at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Blue Ribbon Award winners will receive a free membership with Tahoe Chamber, signage to display at their businesses, an award and continuous recognition throughout the year for their contributions to the South Shore community.
