The 37th annual Freakers Ball: From Tahoe Chinese Palace to Montbleu

For almost four decades, Halloween in South Lake Tahoe has been a party like no other with the Freakers Ball bringing people in from all over to demonstrate their creative talents in costume creations. We reflected on the origins of this annual tradition last year, with Brian Williams, Tim Haloren and Jim Rogers having a Halloween costume party for adults at the now long-gone Tahoe Chinese Palace.

Montbleu Resort now hosts the event which brings out many people who come just to admire the costumed locals and visitors as they parade through the casino on their way to the party.

This year, the Freaker's Ball will be held on Saturday, October 24 at four different venues inside Montbleu starting at 9 p.m. They are giving away $10,000 in cash and prizes and will feature go-go dancers, live music from Pop Fiction, and body painting.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by visiting this link.
