Celebrating Halloween in South Lake Tahoe - Two Trunk or Treat events and more

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - This Halloween will be like no other due to the pandemic. The annual Treat Street was canceled as was the Freaker's Ball, but there are still ways to enjoy holiday fun in a safe manner in South Lake Tahoe.

Pick 6 Sports Bar is holding a Trunk or Treat from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in their back parking lot. Kids get free hot chocolate and popcorn as they move from vehicle trunk to trunk. There are still spaces available for members of the public to park their cars and join in the fun by giving out treats. There are prizes for the best decorated trunk. Call Jess at 707.718.7358 to reserve a car space.

Then, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Elements Health Club will be holding their Trunk or Treat in their parking lot located at 2565 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Kids will go from trunk to trunk, enjoying seeing other's costumes and getting treats while going by social distancing and mask guidelines. There is still time to register vehicles to participate in handing out the fun stuff. Limited spots are available and its a perfect time to represent businesses, schools, teams, etc. Enter to win the Best Trunk Design. There is also a costume contest. Win a three-month Premium Membership. Call 530.871.9679 to sign your trunk up!

There will still be Trick-or-Treating in the "state streets" off Tahoe Keys Boulevard, and one special home on Idaho Street said they are ready with a socially distant PVC pipe candy shooter!

The Lake Tahoe Historical Society created a map of decorated homes people can enjoy any night this week. Drive by and check out the lights and decorations. This isn't all homes, but a good representation of South Lake Tahoe spirit (or would that be spirits?). Get a map from the museum, either in front during closed hours or inside on Halloween from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A printable version is also available on their website at http://www.laketahoemuseum.org/events.html.
