The South Tahoe Drug Free Coalition announced today that last month's Drug Take Back Day netted 40 pounds of prescription drugs.
Pouring rain and below average temperatures may have kept some people away, but the take back day was still deemed successful since there are now 40 pounds of drugs being kept out of the hands of kids and the environment.
Last Spring's event took in over 55 pounds.
If you missed the Drug Take Bay Day there is no longer the need to wait until next year. The South Tahoe Drug Free Coalition has installed a permanent take back bin in the police department lobby. The Coalition is looking into other drop off locations in the city.
More information about the South Lake Tahoe Drug Coalition and their mission is available on their website.
