SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The California Tahoe Conservancy has announced that the gates to Van Sickle Bi-State Park are closed for the winter season. Although the park's facilities are closed, the grounds remain open year-round and are enjoyed by those on day outings, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or just having fun in the snow.
Users need to keep in mind that when parking lots and gates close, services, such as water, restrooms and trash collection, are not available. When accessing the park in the winter, be sure to park legally, do not block gates and take your trash with you when you leave. Paid parking is available at the Parking Garage at Heavenly Village.
For safety reason, sledding is not allowed.
“Van Sickle Bi-State Park represents a long held vision and partnership between the states of California and Nevada and a fantastic recreational opportunity here at Lake Tahoe,” said California Tahoe Conservancy Executive Director Patrick Wright. “We encourage the public to enjoy this beautiful Park throughout the year.”
The Park entrance is located at the intersection of Heavenly Village Way and Montreal Road in South Lake Tahoe. For more information about the Park visit http://tahoe.ca.gov/ctc_projects/van-sickle-bi-state-park-79/.
