Services set for slain El Dorado County Sheriff's Deputy Ishmael

PLACERVILLE, Calif. - Funeral services for El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brian Ishmael will be held on Tuesday, November 5, at 10:00 a.m. at Bayside Church Adventure, located at 6401 Stanford Ranch Road in Roseville, CA.

Funerals for law enforcement who died in the line of duty are very large, with people coming from across the country and the world. The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) expects thousands of people to attend.

The large crowd is expected both inside and outside and along the procession after the services. Deputy Ishmael, who was born in Placerville, will be driven through historic Main Street at the Bell Tower at the completion of the procession. While the procession is only for EDSO and Placerville Police Department personnel, the community and allied agencies are invited to line the streets in honor of Ishmael’s sacrifice.

Those who cannot attend can watch via live stream. The link has not been provided but check the memorial webpage https://memorial.edso.org/ for more details on Tuesday morning.

A map of the procession is found above as well as http://arcg.is/1aWieO0 with the expectation that it will leave Roseville at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

EDSO shared a video produced by Placer County Sheriff's Office that followed the arrival of the Honor Flag at Sacramento International Airport and the procession to the funeral home. It can be viewed on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/eldoradosheriff/.

The El Dorado County Supervisor's Board of Supervisors meeting will start late Tuesday due to their attendance at the funeral. They will convene at 1:30 p.m. for only open forum, consent calendar, department matters and noticed hearings will be conducted. They will adjourn to Wednesday, November 6 at 8:00 a.m. for the balance of the agenda.
