Many are ready for this election to be over the national level with the negativity surrounding the campaigns. On a local level there are several choices before voters.

Measure U - 1/2 Cent Sales Tax Increase to be used for either Roads, Infrastructure or Affordable Housing (must also vote on Measure Q for Housing, Measure R for Roads or Measure S for Facilities if you vote "yes" on U)
Measure P - 2% Transient Occupancy Tax Increase to be used solely for recreation
Measure T - An Initiative Prohibiting the City Council of the City of South Lake Tahoe from "Approving or Supporting" the Tahoe Transportation District Project known as "the US 50/South Shore Community Revitalization Project"

Douglas County
Douglas County, Nevada has ballot questions, school board and commissioner elections. So far, 17,277 voters have either voted early or mailed in their absentee ballots. This is over half of the registered 29,576 voters in the County.

Question 1 - Requires background check for gun sales
Question 2 - Legalizes marijuana for persons over 21 years old, subject to state regulation and taxation
Question 3 - Prohibits monopolies and exclusive franchises in retail electric energy markets
Question 4 - Exempts some medical equipment from sales tax
The County Commissioners are all running unopposed, as are the County judges.
