Lake Tahoe area roadwork November 19 - 24

NOTE: Most traffic-interfering work will be restricted from 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21 through 10:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25 due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work is in winter suspension on a $57 million project from the “Y” intersection at State Route 89 to the Trout Creek Bridge in South Lake Tahoe. This project is building new drainage systems to collect and treat stormwater runoff, rebuilding curbs, gutters and sidewalks, widening the highway to allow for bike lanes and resurfacing the roadway. Completion is expected in fall 2019.

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $35 million project in Tahoe City to build a new Truckee River bridge east of the Caltrans Maintenance Yard with roundabouts on either end of the realignment, replace the existing Truckee River (Fanny) Bridge, construct a roundabout at the “Wye” intersection and make complete street enhancements to the portion of State Route 89/West Lake Boulevard. Completion is expected in 2019. For more information, visit: www.fannybridge.org November 19-21 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Twin Crags Drive to Granlibakken Road: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control at various locations from 5 p.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday for utility work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $3.6 million multi-use path project that will connect the existing path that ends at Sugar Pine Point State Park to Meeks Bay Resort. Completion is expected this winter. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled on the highway. November 19-20 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Meeks Bay Resort to Sugar Pine State Park: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for guardrail work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work is complete on a $7.1 million project to resurface more than 10 miles of Highway 50 from the Sawmill Undercrossing in Cedar Grove to the South Fork American River Bridge at Riverton in El Dorado County, due to funds from Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from 30 Mile Stone Tract to 39 Mile Stone Tract: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect intermittent lane closures at various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for dead tree removal work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Squaw Creek to Goose Meadows Campground: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for drainage work.
