Traffic backed up due to rockslide on US50 at Echo Summit

Update: US50 over Echo Summit reopened with no lane restrictions at 7:00 p.m.

Update: Caltrans is estimating US50 on Echo Summit will be open without one-way controlled traffic in another 1-2 hours, or by around 6:00 p.m.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There has been a rockslide on US50 at Echo Summit, backing up traffic as crews work to clear the roadway. Rocks and dirt filled the westbound lanes since just after 1:00 p.m. Monday.
One-way controlled traffic will be in place until all debris is removed. It is unknown what time the work will be completed.
