April 22, 2020 (All day) 2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day and now, more than ever, it is important to spend time reflecting on and celebrating Mother Earth. The Sierra Nevada Alliance (Alliance) is proud to provide a way to appreciate our planet and inspire advocacy from the safety of your couch during the coronavirus pandemic. The Alliance is inviting everyone to celebrate Earth Day online with the Virtual Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour.

Join The Sierra Nevada Alliance on Earth Day, April 22, 2020 for a Farm to Table Dinner prepared by Celebrity Chef Darren Weston, The Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour, or both. All proceeds support the Alliance’s efforts to protect and restore the Sierra.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a farm to table dinner prepared by celebrity chef Darren Weston at the Valhalla Grand Hall in South Lake Tahoe.

April 27, 2019 - 2:00pm After Earth Day celebrations in South Lake Tahoe, join the Sierra Nevada Alliance as they present their 14th annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival on Saturday, April 27 at Harrah's Tahoe. The 2nd annual Wild Child film fest is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the adult's program 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Each year, they choose powerful environmental and adventure films so people are inspired to take further action regarding issues that impact the environment, ourselves and our world. This year they are showing a series of short films that will not only inspire kids but adults as well.

February 28, 2014 - 7:00pm Lake of the Sky Outfitters will be showing the film "Storm over Everest" on Friday February 28th at 7:00pm. This gripping story is about the 1996 tragedy on Mt. Everest which was originally chronicled in the book "Into Thin Air". Produced by American climber and film maker David Breashears who was on the mountain as the events unfolded on that fateful night and participated in the rescue attempts. He takes us back to the mountain and also interviews survivors of the event.

The Sierra Nevada Alliance is hosting the 7th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival at the MontBleu Showroom on Saturday, March 6 at 7:00PM. A silent auction will also be available with such items as Sierra-at-Tahoe Lift Tickets, Lava Cap Winery Private Tour and Tasting, and Two Nights Stay at the Yosemite Bug.
