The City of South Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Tri Club have partnered to provide a series of three fun runs this Fall season including Tahoe’s Freakin’ Fun Run, Turkey Trot and Jingle Jog.
The 1st Annual “Tahoe’s Freakin’ Fun Run” will be held this Sunday, October 13th at Lake Tahoe Community College Playfields located at 1300 Al Tahoe Blvd. The Fun Run will begin at 10am and participants are encouraged to dress in Halloween attire with prizes for Best Costume and Most Ridiculous Costume being awarded.

Celio Ranch Transports Visitors to a Bygone Era

It doesn’t take long to immerse yourself into the history of the Celio Ranch as you walk through the fields and old farm buildings. Spread over 100 acres at the base of Echo Summit near South Lake Tahoe, the Celio Ranch shows what it was like in years gone by.
If you can tune out the sound of an occasional car engine or airplane you can imagine what these early settlers found as they farmed and created a large family business 150 years ago.

The non-profit Dawgs on the Run puts on the event to promote the fun and benefits of having dogs in our lives. This full day of fun is for dogs and their humans to enjoy and includes games, contests, raffles, food, prizes and informative demonstrations. All leashed dogs are invited!

In cooperation with the Himmel Haus, Blue Angel Café, and Rainbow Mountain, the Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will host the first annual South Tahoe Santa Run to benefit Christmas Cheer and the HSSF Scholarship Fund on Thursday, Dec. 20th, regardless of weather.
“Running in Santa costumes for charity is a fun, win-win situation to me!” said Zakariah Latzka, Himmel Haus owner. “We are excited to be involved in helping the community that has so graciously embraced us and our business.”

League to Save Lake Tahoe teams up with Groovebox for Tahoe Blue Halloween celebration

October 31, 2012 (All day) Step into a blue Halloween at the American Legion in South Lake Tahoe on Halloween night. The League to Save Lake Tahoe is teaming up with local progressive rockers Groovebox to stage a Halloween Party all about keeping it blue. A costume contest will award prizes for best overall costume and most creative blue costume.
Other attractions include raffles and a special Halloween photo booth. A portion of proceeds will help support the League to Save Lake Tahoe. Show starts at 8 p.m., $10 cover and 18+, American Legion, 2748 Young Street, South Lake Tahoe.
