Farmer's Market returns to South Lake Tahoe June 2
Submitted by paula on Wed, 05/27/2020 - 3:38pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The El Dorado County Certified Farmer's Market is starting late this year due to uncertainties created by COVID-19.
Starting June 2, and every Tuesday through October 13, the Farmer's Market will be held in South Lake Tahoe at the American Legion located at 2732 Lake Tahoe Boulevard from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This will be the county-wide market in 2020.
Other communities in El Dorado County that have a market are Cameron Park on Wednesdays, Placerville on Saturdays, and El Dorado Hills on Sunday.

Christine and her husband Williams have opened Crazy Good Bakery and Cafe inside the old Grass Roots Natural Foods store and the community response has been, well, crazy.
The life-long visitor to Lake Tahoe moved from Pacifica, California to South Lake Tahoe seven years ago with her husband and took the leap to open a bakery six months ago when they signed the lease at the building at the "Y" at 2040 Dunlap Drive.

Farmer's Market Food Bank stops in South Lake Tahoe Wednesday

The Food Bank of El Dorado County starts their seasonal stops in South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, May 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Theresa's Church.
They will bring their Farmer's Market on wheels to those in the community who are in need of food, and will come on the 4th Wednesday of the month through October, all at the same time of 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The church is located at 1041 Lyons Avenue.

LimeBike, the newest in bike riding sharing, will kick off their South Lake Tahoe operations with a BBQ and ribbon cutting on Friday, July 14 at the Ski Run Blvd Farmer's Market from 4:00 p.m. t 5:30 p.m.
The San Mateo based business will have ten bikes prepared for people to try out along the boulevard between Outdoor Gear lab and the farmer's market. They'll have a booth set up with free food and drink, flyers and t-shirts.

First market to open is the Lake Tahoe Market on Wednesday, May 24 at Kahle Community Park, 236 Kingsbury Grade near the state line from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They will be open on Wednesdays through the summer.

Farmers Markets return to the South Shore

On Friday, the popular Ski Run Blvd market opens for their seventh season at 3:00 p.m. Food, crafts, fruit and vegetables will be featured in the middle of the block in front of Blue Angel Cafe. Historic Tahoe Trout Farm faced with off-site sign challenge
Submitted by paula on Tue, 08/18/2015 - 7:24pmThe year was 1946. The President was Harry S. Truman, "It's a Wonderful Life" was in the theaters and a stamp cost three cents. It was also the year the Tahoe Trout Farm opened in South Lake Tahoe.
This business, located off of Lake Tahoe Blvd on Blue Lake Avenue, was the topic of the South Lake Tahoe Planning Commission's meeting on August 13.
In an effort to "Clean Up Highway 50," the City's sign ordinance is meant to get rid of the blight and unattractive signage that visitors and locals see each day they travel the main artery through town.

The Food Bank of El Dorado County, in partnership with California Emergency Food Link, is holding a free Farmer's Market for the South Lake Tahoe community. During their stop in town last month, almost 200 families received food.
On Wednesday, June 24, a truck full of food including fresh produce will be at the American Legion Hall located at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

August 2, 2014 - 12:00pm The "Jazz & Beyond: Carson City Music Festival," in collaboration with Carson City, is proud to present five of several bands at the Nevada Sesquicentennial Fair in Fuji Park on Saturday, August 2. "Jazz & Beyond" runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 17 and features over 50 events, mainly in the downtown Carson City area.
The five "Jazz & Beyond" bands at the Fair on August 2 are Sons of Slide Mountain, RVGS Tantalus, Lynne Colvig Latin Jazz, the Reno Jazz Orchestra with singer Jackie Landrum, and the St. Christopher Project, featuring the music of Tom Waits.

Emergency food for the South Lake Tahoe community is available on Wednesday, July 23 when the Food Bank of El Dorado County brings their mobile pantry to town.
They are providing a free farmer's market and mobile food pantry at the American Legion Hall at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
One allocation per household is available.

The popular farmer's market held on Fridays all summer long at Kahle Park has moved to Lakeside Inn & Casino for the month of October. Enjoy the farm treats from 3 pm to 6 pm as well as live music, a beer garden and more.
